Pablo Rodriguez was born in Argentina in 1967.
When he was 8 years old, his family fled the violence perpetrated by the military junta terrorizing the country, and settled in Québec.
It’s by playing hockey on Sherbrooke’s rinks that Pablo learns French, a language he quickly fell in love with.
Pablo also becomes familiar with Québec’s culture and rapidly integrates within the community that welcomed his family.
Member of the QLP’s Youth Commission from the age of 16, he travels across Québec as a youth spokesperson for the “No” camp in 1995. MP for the riding of Honoré-Mercier from 2004 to 2011 and 2015 until his resignation in 2025, he defends, on every occasion, the interests of Québec.
Pablo has held a number of positions within the federal government, notably that of Chief Government Whip, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Transports.
From 2019 to 2024, he is also Québec Lieutenant, a rôle through which he will fight for the interests of Québecers, against other political parties as well as within the government.
This role also gives him the chance to meet residents from all of Québec’s regions, to better understand their realities and their concerns.
Pablo obtained concrete results for Québec, like the integration of the Davie Shipyard within the National Shipbuilding Strategy and the conclusion of agreements to accelerate housing construction and give residents in all our regions access to high-speed Internet.
Pablo Rodriguez is the partner of Roxane and the proud father of Béatrice, to whom he wants to leave a more united, more fair and more prosperous Québec.
